So I called my pharmacy yesterday to refill by my birth control prescription. They got back to me this morning saying that they couldn’t refill it because I had used up my year’s prescription, so I needed to go get a new one from my doctor. For those of you that take the pill, I’m sure you know…

[Parents should] recommend some books with female leads that your son would enjoy reading. If your next question is “Why?,” then ask your daughter why she liked Harry Potter. She might say it was a good story, great characters, and a fantastic world. Who cares if the main character was a boy? In fact, girls will pick up a book with a hero or heroine equally. According to my excellent librarian resources, boys will actively avoid books with a girl as the main character. What’s the problem? I have no idea. Why should you encourage your son to read books with heroines? That’s easy. You want your son to grow up knowing that a strong female for a friend, wife or boss is normal and good.

A comic about the different types of attraction one might feel. I saw these floating around on tumblr. These were originally taken from a website about asexuality. Although, I think people who are not asexual feel these regularly too. There’s all kinds of attractions for all kinds of people. Enjoy.

I wish I could carry this comic around to explain to people why my aesthetic attraction to certain beautiful men does not make me straight.

ditto. I’d love to show this comic to everyone who casually dismisses asexuals who experience aesthetic/romantic/sensual attraction to the opposite gender as “just confused/afraid of sex and appropriating queerness when [they]’re actually straight.” especially great coming from self-identifying queer folk, totally missing their own hypocrisy.

Now I need one to explain that sexual attraction is different from sex drive.

This is too awesome

We really need to get our priorities in order. I also like how consensual sex is somehow more offensive than killing people.

Men Can Stop Rape’s new College Bystander Intervention campaign.

Actual good anti rape campaign posters! They don’t shame victims, they ask people to examine their own actions and inactions and protect their friends. And not in a gross excuse for chivalry either, just as people keeping people safe.

I like this.

Yep I agree. I also like how it’s not tying a man taking action around rape to some imaginary alpha male/hypermasculine sort of thing. Like a real man would do such and such.

Hey look! It’s an anti-rape campaign based on being a decent human being! In all seriousness, this is marvelous. I bolded the above for emphasis.
